I finally got my hands on the Soph x MakeUp Revolution eyeshadow palette last week. I’ve been watching SophDoesNail’s YouTube channel since she only had a few hundred subscribers so when I found out she was making a palette with one of my favourite drugstore brands – I simply had to have it!
I had been looking for this palette for weeks but it was always sold out at my local Superdrug store. I ended up buying it online and thought I would share my thoughts with you!
The Soph x MakeUp Revolution palette contains 24 individual shadows (14 mattes and 10 shimmers).
As you can see from my swatches – the eyeshadows themselves are highly pigmented. I would expect no less from MakeUp Revolution as all of their eyeshadows that I’ve tried have been of high-end quality.
There is a huge range of colours in this palette and you can create a never-ending amount of looks from it.
When it comes to eyeshadow – I love to be able to create a whole look using just one palette so I love that the Soph x MakeUp Revolution palette has plenty of transition shades as well as the lid colours. There is also a good mix and balance of matte and shimmer shades so it will suit all tastes.
Soph also mentioned in one of her videos that the brown shades in this palette can be used to fill in your eyebrows. How versatile can you get?!
The palette comes in a cute box designed by Soph herself. When you take it out of the box – it’s cream plastic packaging with gold writing. The packaging is pretty solid so I wouldn’t worry too much about it getting damaged if you’re travelling with it. The palette comes with a full-sized mirror so it’s perfect for using on-the-go.
This palette costs £10 both online and in Superdrug stores.
I’m by no means a pro at doing make-up but I thought I’d share the look I created for New Years Eve. I used the shades “Pancakes” and “Cuppa Tea” in my crease and “Pine Tree” on my lid. I sprayed my brush with some of the MakeUp Revolution ProFix Setting Spray when I was applying the green glitter to really make it “pop”.
Soph has uploaded a few tutorials for using this palette on her YouTube channel. She is infinitely better at make-up than I am so if you’re stuck for ideas, her videos are worth checking out.
Overall I’m really impressed with this palette- I even bought one for my mum too! It is incredible value for money considering the amount of eyeshadows you get vs the price!
The only downside (if you can call it that) is that it doesn’t come with a brush. However this really is a minor detail and not a deal-breaker for buying the product.
Soph has also designed a highlighter palette with MakeUp Revolution. I haven’t tried it yet but if you’d like to see a review, let me know in the comments box.
