I can’t believe that it’s the beginning of June ALREADY! I really don’t know where this year has gone. It’s been a while since I’ve shared a post like this and I want to try and make it a monthly thing. I love reading other bloggers “favourites” posts as I always end up discovering something new and exciting.

This is actually the first time in a while that I’ve had a bunch of actual exciting good news to post!
1. WE FINALLY MOVED HOUSE – After what feels like an eternity of waiting and searching – we got the keys to our new apartment. It’s in my favourite area of Belfast and we’re just really enjoying settling in and decorating it just the way we want it.
2. I GOT A NEW JOB – I don’t really post about work things on here (some things gotta stay private!) but I got offered a new job this month and I’m really excited to start. I think this is going to be a real step forward for me and a chance to develop myself as a person and my skill set!
3. ANNIVERSARY – Amy and I celebrated our anniversary on 23rd May! We celebrated by going to a Demi Lovato concert and getting some amazing tapas at 2 Taps restaurant in Belfast – but more about that later!
As I’ve spent the last 6 weeks travelling, packing up my old place and moving into our new one – I really haven’t had much time to dedicate to blogging. Luckily my traffic hasn’t suffered too much so that’s made me think about what I can achieve when I can actually put in the amount of time that I want to! Now that we’re moved in, settled and we FINALLY have WiFi – I can’t want to get back into a regular blogging pattern again.
I already have some collaborations, giveaways and post series planned so make sure you subscribe so you’re the first to know when they’re live!
You may have noticed that I’m slowly but surely giving my blog a makeover. I started with my new theme which I absolutely LOVE and I’m developing new features etc bit by bit! I recently bought a new blogging e-book called Leverage which was written by Summer from Coffee With Summer. I’m following her step-by-step guide to grow my blog and I’m LOVING it so far. This isn’t even an affiliate link – I just really love this e-book and I think it’s been well worth the investment so far.
Now onto my favourites…
This month I’ve been…
– Our whole apartment! I’m really proud of what we’ve done with the place in such a sort space of time. I especially love our living room so that’s why I’ve chosen to share this photo with you. We’ve ended up with 3 sofas and they’re all super comfortable – perfect for crashing in front of Greys Anatomy after a long day at work.
BOOK – I’ve managed to finish a book this month – with everything going on it’s been a while since I’ve been able to do that! I read “What Happened” by Hillary Rodham Clinton. It’s taken me a LONG time to get this book finished. As it’s (obviously) very political – it takes a bit more concentration than your average book. This book ignited every negative emotion in me (anger, resentment, disbelief etc) but at the same time – there were some pretty funny parts and I really enjoyed Hillary’s narrative. I still can’t believe she lost the election all these months later – but that’s another post entirely!
BLOGS – This month I posted a list featuring my favourite blogs and the lovely ladies behind them. Check it out here:
Demi Lovato! I’ve wanted to see Demi live for the longest time so I was so happy that we got tickets to her Tell Me You Love Me tour at the SSE Arena! She sang a really good mix of songs from her new album along with classics like “Heart Attack” and ‘Give Your Heart a Break”. Her voice is just as good live as it is on her recordings so I would definitely recommend getting a ticket to her show if she’s playing in your area.
I got this rainbow striped top from Stradivarius just before I went on holiday to Torremolinos. It’s so bright and summery! Everyone always asks about my denim jacket but unfortunately it was one-off Depop find. However I’ve found this similar one from BooHoo.
Urban Decay Moondust Palette – I’ve had this palette for a good few months now and I absolutely love it. They’re by far the best glitter eyeshadows I’ve ever tried. I find the best way to apply is directly onto your eyelids with your finger. Try using Too Faced’s Glitter Glue to make the glitter really pop!
MAC “Half Red” Lip Pencil – I love this lip pencil because I can pair it with so many different lipsticks. My favourite combo at the moment is the “Half Red” lipliner with the Lime Crime Velvetine liquid lipstick in the shade “Saint”. It’s a beautiful deep red that can be dressed up or down depending on your outfit.
Station 19! I’ve been hooked on this show since it started. It’s a Greys Anatomy spin-off featuring Bailey’s husband Ben as he starts his new career as a firefighter. It’s action-packed and really addictive. You can tell it’s been written by the folk responsible for Greys Anatomy and it features regular cameos from your favourite doctors from Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
If you haven’t seen it already – it’s only on it’s first season so it won’t take long to catch up. Plus it’s just been renewed for a second season.
Everything – and I’m only half-kidding. This month to celebrate our anniversary we went to a tapas restaurant in Belfast city centre called Two Taps. We literally ate our weight in food – plus I had the best cheesecake I’ve ever eaten – M&M flavour!
Not only is the food and service amazing, it’s actually the first place we ever went out to eat together so it holds some extra special significance for us.
Looking forward to…
Ok so this one isn’t technically a “favourite” but never mind! I’m looking forward to actually having some money again. To cut a long story short – we’ve ended up paying double rent for 2 months waiting for our previous tenancies to end AND entering into our new one. There was nothing we could do about it but it’s left me pretty broke. Luckily June is our last double rent month and from July onwards we’ll be saving a few hundred pounds per month. I can’t wait to treat myself to something nice as I’ve had to be super-frugal these last few weeks.
What have been your favourites this month? I’d love to hear them! Leave me a comment below or send me a message on my social media channels!
